Leave a name of a series or fandom in a comment and I'll tell you my three favorite characters and my three least favorite characters, and I might provide reasons why. If I don't know the fandom, I'll look up wikipedia or some other side and look at the character profiles and pick my favorite three based on those.
#2. Holiday Wishes Meme (yoinked from Skye)
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friends' list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Real life:
1. A gift certificate/card to Macy's or some department store for at least 50 bucks. I know this is lame, but I need new shirts. I just now realized that I still have shirts from 9th grade!
2. A new iPod nano with 4 or 6 GB. Reasons why in recent f-locked entry.
3. A not-too-expensive apartment in San Francisco. I'm tired of the dorms. D:
4. That my mom's divorce at least ends on a better note. *sigh* Also explained in the last entry...
And...Fandom:
5. For someone to burn me all of the subbed One Piece episodes so far. They're getting harder and harder to find on the interbutt and I'm not patient enough to wait for Funimation to put them out on DVD.
6. For the next season of XS to come out on DVD. For the fandom to miraculously come back to life. D: For more Omi/Jack and fics with Jermaine in them. Er... good gen/slash/fslash XS fic? ;^_^
7. For the Avatar fandom to be less crazy. Seriously, it's scary in a horribly bad way. But at least we're not the HP fandom. Yet. *runs*
World Scale:
8. Peace, damnit. PEACE. No more of this nuclear missile bull from the US or North Korea or anybody else. IT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
9. Read my lips. NO. MORE. ISMS. (at least the negative kind...which is most of them.) Down with those institutions! *feels like making protest signs*
Intangible:
10. More time, plz.
As you can see, I've put the wishes in the order of how easily they could be granted. But I'm a greedy bastard, so they're all kinda hard to grant. Aw well. I had fuuuun doing it!. :DD
