So. I really hope that this is some kind of 'social experiment' done by a concern troll.

Words couldn't describe how pissed off I will be if it IS true. All I can say (without breaking my keyboard in anger) is this:

I'M TOTALLY CALLING THAT SOME TROLL OR MISGUIDED SOUL WILL POST A SECRET ON F_S SAYING HOW MUCH THEY LURRRRVE THE CAST CHOICES AND HOW THE PEOPLE THAT OBJECT ARE THE RACIST ONES.

...

WITH IN TWO WEEKS OR LESS.

Totally called. Too. Fuckin. Easy.

Kay, now to ...ugh final homeworks. D:

I seriously take issue with the whole sale white washing of properties in hollywood. Like you know there's going to be a Prince of Persia movie? Jake Gylenhall is the lead.

I mean- Really?? They couldn't have found a talented actor of middle eastern decent? I know for a goddanmed fact they exist. It's just offensive to me. Not to mention it takes me out of the story when I'm watching something that's set in a time and place that clearly has nothing to do with white american culture and the actors portraying the characters look and sound like people who went to my predominatly white midwestern high school.

Avatar takes place in a world full of an amalgamation of asian cultures. There has to be a million young asian american actors who want to break in to the movie industry who would be great in these roles but no, fuck it, give the role of Zuko to the blond kid.

Anyway, sorry that rambled on forever. Just the homogenized aspect of the entertainment industry is something that really sticks in my craw.

No, no it's cool to ramble.

*smh @ Jake = the Prince. Seriously*

I especially have a problem with people who claim that the Avatar world has no concept of race. The whole damn series' plot has almost everything to do with what one race did to a bunch of others. There IS a difference between a person from the Water Tribe and someone from the Earth Nation! It is the variation skin color, of culture, and areas that make the show so intriguing in the first place.

So why isn't there even ONE person of color in the main fucking cast!?!

(I really could go on. I suppose it is a good thing that finals are in full swing.)

Huh. Here I was thinking that the Avatar movies were going to have nothing to do with the series? I mean, same basic idea, but different characters and stuff? Why do these characters have the same names? :o

In any case, that director seems like he's on a totally different planet from the rest of us.

I was hoping the same thing, that M. Night would just base it of the series. I guess he felt that OCs wouldn't be well received. lolz M. Night is totes writing fanfic.

One of my roommates has Lady in the Water(or whatever that title is). It's...pretty bad, yet I loved the Sixth Sense. I wanna have hope but it's looking downhill from here. DX

I've seen some of his movies and liked them. But it's his quotes on Avatar that have me saying WUT. Like when we first found out about it. And I reread the article, and one WUT moment. "They don't touch each other based in this world," I realized was about bending.

Oh, and there's already a F!S based on this topic, 157. today. XD

*reads it* Well, at least they're not for the casting... *sigh*
